Quality Engineer- Aerospace- Queens, NY
The Quality Engineer/Inspector (Aerospace) will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts, ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense industry standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100. They will also manage the Quality Management System (QMS), collaborate with a structured quality team, and maintain precise inspection records in a hands-on, team-oriented environment at the Queens, NY facility.

Description
The Quality Engineer (Aerospace) will:
- Perform first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections of machined parts.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, blueprints, and industry quality standards.
- Identify and document nonconforming materials, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Conduct in-process audits to ensure consistent manufacturing quality.
- Utilize and calibrate precision measuring tools, including CMM equipment.
- Accurately document inspection results and maintain organized quality records.
- Verify and validate measurement data on inspection sheets for accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Provide support for root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of conforming parts.
- Work closely with a structured quality team to uphold company quality standards at the Queens, NY facility.
Profile
The ideal Quality Engineer (Aerospace) applicant will have:
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering orders, and quality control specifications.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including CMM equipment.
- Experience performing first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
- Ability to identify, document, and manage nonconforming materials.
- Experience creating Root Cause reports and Corrective Action procedures.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and inspection record-keeping.
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or defense.
- Strong understanding of build-to-print processes and 2D drawings.
- Ability to calibrate and maintain precision measuring tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
