Assistant Project Manager - Construction

$110,000 - $130,000/Year

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Construction to lead and oversee multiple public works projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all phases of construction, ensuring quality, compliance with regulations, and the timely and cost-effective completion of projects. Must have a solid background in construction management, particularly in public works, and experience working with government entities.

We pride ourselves on maintaining strong relationships with city, county, and state agencies, ensuring every project is completed on time within budget and to the highest standard.

Description

  • Lead and manage multiple public works projects from inception through completion.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and approve project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and progress reports.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to contracts, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolving issues and delays effectively.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including government officials, to provide updates on project progress and address concerns.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance, and provide leadership.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on public works projects.
  • Strong knowledge of public works regulations, contracts, and procedures.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and controlling costs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
  • PMP or CCM certification is a plus.
  • Not for New York City Applicants.
