Superintendent - Chicago Multi-Family
Client Details
Our client is a reputable and growing general contractor specializing in ground‑up multi‑family residential construction throughout Chicago and the surrounding urban neighborhoods. They have a long track record of delivering high‑quality:
- Market‑rate apartment developments
- Mixed‑use residential buildings
- Multi‑phase urban infill projects
- Podium and wood‑frame construction
- Mid‑rise residential communities
Description
- Oversee daily field operations for ground‑up multi‑family construction projects
- Manage subcontractors, site logistics, and construction sequencing
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specs, building codes, and quality standards
- Maintain project schedules and coordinate closely with the Project Manager
- Conduct daily and weekly site meetings with trades and supervisors
- Enforce site safety programs, conduct inspections, and uphold OSHA standards
- Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field changes
- Track progress, document work, and support project reporting
- Coordinate inspections with city officials and third‑party engineers
- Drive successful punch‑list, closeout, and turnover to ownership
Profile
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
- Strong background in multi‑family residential construction required
- Experience with podium, wood‑frame, and/or mixed‑use developments preferred
- Solid understanding of structural, MEP, and finish coordination
- Proven ability to manage fast‑paced, high‑density residential projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and subcontractor‑management skills
- Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and technical construction documents
- OSHA certification preferred
