Construction Superintendent - Greater Kansas City Area

Client Details

  • Our client is a relatively small company (about 30 people total).
  • Construction side is a very tight, family-like group (6 people).
  • Very high job security.
  • Company does between $5M-$15M range annually, and currently have an excellent pipeline targeting $20M-$30M.
  • Most of their work is on the negotiated side when bringing in new work.
  • Work on a lot of federal contracts and historical reservation - the project sizes have been as small as $80K and big as $10M.
  • Like to grow their Supers into Senior Supers/higher management once they get established.

Description

  • Plan/schedule construction project activities to meet deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports and cost tracking reports.
  • Interpret plans and contract terms to all parties.
  • Direct/supervise all construction and workers/
  • Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
  • Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • Develop/implement environmental protection programs.
  • Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions.
  • Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.
  • Develop/implement quality control programs.
  • Implement new/modified plans in response to delays, bad weather and construction site emergencies.
  • Contract or oversee craft work.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
  • Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree is a plus (preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering and Architecture).
  • Familiarity with concrete is a plus.
  • Someone who can take initiative - our client does not like to micromanage.
  • Familiarity with estimates.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience.
  • Experience with multiple types/sizes of projects.
