Description

The Quality Engineer (Aerospace) will:

  • Perform first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections of machined parts and assemblies.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and quality control procedures to verify part compliance.

  • Identify and document nonconforming materials, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Conduct in-process audits to ensure manufacturing consistency and adherence to standards.

  • Utilize and calibrate precision measuring tools, including CMM equipment, to verify part accuracy.

  • Maintain organized inspection records and verify measurement data accuracy.

  • Apply acceptance stamps to conforming parts and ensure proper material control.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues.

  • Generate root cause reports and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality procedures.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing quality.

  • Maintain and oversee the calibration of precision measurement equipment at the Queens, NY facility




Profile

The successful Quality Engineer (Aerospace) will have:

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed part and assembly drawings, engineering orders, and technical specifications.

  • Experience performing first article, in-process, and final inspections in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including CMM equipment, gauges, and calibrated tools.

  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures and industry standards for machined parts.

  • Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming materials and implementing corrective actions.

  • Ability to conduct in-process audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized inspection records.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or precision machining.

  • Knowledge of material acceptance and quality verification processes.

  • Ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.

  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in a similar quality inspection or engineering role.
