Global Director Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality
The Global Director of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) will be responsible for leading the manufacturing quality initiatives and standards across 10 manufacturing plants globally with a heavy focus on the Americas region.

Our client for the Global Director of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) opportunity is a global chemical and advanced materials producer selling to a variety of markets. This company is just over $1B in revenue and growing through or organic growth and M&A.
The Global Director of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) will be responsible for leading the manufacturing quality initiatives and standards across 10 manufacturing plants globally with a heavy focus on the Americas region. The Global Director of SHEQ will also lead Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) for the global enterprise driving process, policies, and improvement for safety, health, and environmental ensuring goals are met set by the organization and by regulatory compliance. The Global Director of SHEQ will be customer facing to address and resolve all product quality issues as well. This person will report to the EVP (Executive Vice President - CEO minus 1) and drive a lean, but growing team. This role is onsite and based in the Mid - Southeast region of the United States. Relocation will be required with relocation assistance provided.
Description
- Drive overall enterprise SHEQ leadership, culture and standards working with a high level of integrity and driving
- Lead manufacturing quality initiatives across multi plants in the Americas region and globe to ensure quality standards are being met and exceeded
- Represent the Voice of Customer regarding quality standards
- Ensure full execution of corporate initiatives relating to quality, safety, environmental, and health across all the business units globally
- Establish and report against KPIs for the functions reporting results to the EVP and Leadership team
- Manage and executive all operational decisions regarding quality and environmental, health, and safety across manufacturing plants
- Ensure a reduction in workplace incidents and environmental hazards driving continuous improvement
- Work in partnership with the Operations Leaders on improving operations driving lean and six sigma practices
- Maintain and ensure full compliance with local and international regulations
- Lead and participate in OSHA audits
- Lead the global enterprise sustainability program
- Conduct internal reviews on quality management systems based, ISO14001 and ISO45001
- Drive change and process improvements across multi manufacturing plants
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Chemical Engineering or related
- 15 years plus of experience in manufacturing, quality, safety, environmental and health
- 5 years of management experience leading multi plants HSEQ
- Experience in chemical industry or related highly preferred
- Experience working in a global organization
- Must be action oriented working through challenges and problems with a high sense of urgency
- Experience driving continuous improvement
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Business minded and strong teamwork and takes accountability and ownership of team and function
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Can simplify and work through complex sometimes contradictory situations and problems ensuring to find a solution
- Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
- ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO 31000
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Ability to travel 50%
Job Offer
Competitive base salary $185,000 - $235,000, annual bonus, full benefits, relocation assistance, 401K, vacation, holidays. Being a part of a growing and innovative company, with the opportunity for career growth and progression.
