Healthcare Superintendent
A leading South Florida-based general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to manage field operations for healthcare construction projects in the Miami area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing medical facilities-hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, or MOBs-and a deep understanding of the complexities, compliance standards, and safety protocols unique to the healthcare sector.

Their capabilities encompass the full construction lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, effectively, and with minimal impact on active healthcare environments.
Description
Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through closeout.
Enforce adherence to project plans, specifications, and healthcare regulations, including AHCA compliance where required.
Coordinate daily with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to ensure smooth workflow and timely decision-making.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site in full compliance with OSHA, infection control (ICRA), and local healthcare facility protocols.
Schedule and manage all site inspections, including pre-construction risk assessments and interim life safety measures (ILSM).
Identify and proactively resolve field issues or delays to maintain progress and quality.
Document daily site activity and maintain accurate project logs, RFIs, and field reports.
Ensure proper installation of medical-grade systems such as MEP infrastructure, oxygen/vacuum piping, and specialized finishes.
Support client and facility communications to minimize operational disruption during renovation or expansion work.
Profile
Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years focused on healthcare facilities.
Proven experience with AHCA-regulated projects and understanding of healthcare codes and standards.
Strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
OSHA 30 certification required; ICRA certification highly preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Phased renovation of occupied healthcare facilities
Coordination of highly technical medical equipment installations
