We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Superintendent to join our team and oversee the successful execution of commercial interior projects.
Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of commercial interior construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the on-site construction process, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. As a Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of each project while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of multiple commercial interior construction sites, ensuring that work is progressing according to plan, schedule, and budget.
- Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, labor crews, and vendors. Ensure that all team members are aligned with the project's goals and quality standards.
- Safety Management: Enforce and monitor safety policies and practices to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring that all work is completed on time. Coordinate work sequences with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to minimize delays and disruptions.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that work meets the company's quality standards and client expectations. Identify and resolve any issues related to construction quality or compliance.
- Client Interaction: Maintain strong communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve on-site challenges, including technical issues, material shortages, and construction delays. Take proactive steps to prevent potential issues.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress updates, safety inspections, and any other project-related documentation. Report regularly to the Project Manager on project status, issues, and solutions.
- Resource Management: Ensure that necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available on-site and used efficiently. Work closely with the Project Manager to forecast resource needs and resolve shortages.
Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial interior construction, with a strong understanding of NYC building codes and regulations. Experience managing large-scale tenant improvement or renovation projects is highly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus. OSHA 30-hour certification required.

- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve on-site issues.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in all aspects of construction, from safety to quality control.
