Staff Accountant - Manufacturer - Summit, IL
I'm currently partnered with a multi-million-dollar manufacturer located near Summit, IL. As the company continues to expand, they are looking to bring on a Staff Accountant to join their team.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for accounts payable tasks, including entering and processing invoices, month-end financial reporting, audit support, and collaborating closely with other team members across the organization. This is a hands-on role that requires wearing many hats and offers the opportunity to work directly with leadership while gaining exposure to all areas of the business.

Description
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, while supporting the month-end close process
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledger by reviewing, posting, and adjusting journal entries as needed
- Perform regular bank and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis between actual results and projections
- Provide support for internal and external audits by compiling documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Conduct detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding issues
- Utilize accounting systems and ERP platforms to process and manage financial data; experience with MAS 90 / Sage 100 is a strong plus
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to support financial reporting needs and business performance objectives
- Report directly to the CFO in a hands-on role with no direct reports and broad exposure across the organization
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience working with ERP systems; strong proficiency in advanced Excel functions is required
- Self-motivated professional with a proactive mindset and a willingness to support team and business needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
