Estimator - Mixed Commercial

  • A Mixed Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects, including retail, office, and industrial spaces.
  • This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and market trends to develop comprehensive bids while collaborating closely with project managers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and feasibility.

Description

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for various commercial construction projects by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and relevant documentation.

  • Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bids that reflect project scope and market conditions, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.

  • Market Research: Conduct research on material and labor costs, as well as industry trends, to inform pricing strategies and estimate accuracy.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to gather information and clarify project requirements, ensuring all estimates are aligned with project goals.

  • Review and Adjust Estimates: Continuously review and adjust estimates based on project changes, scope modifications, and client feedback to ensure accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks associated with project costs and provide recommendations for mitigating those risks.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of estimates, bid submissions, and project correspondence to ensure transparency and facilitate future reference.

  • Post-Contract Evaluation: Analyze project performance against estimates upon project completion, providing insights for future bidding processes and continuous improvement.

Profile

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction estimation, with a strong ability to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates. They will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with project managers and contractors, and will be detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple estimates simultaneously. Relevant industry certifications will enhance their qualifications for the role.
