Supplier Quality Manager - Skokie, IL
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing supplier selection, development, and approval to ensure high-quality standards. You will conduct supplier visits, lead on-site audits, and enhance the supplier rating process. The role includes supervising inspectors and purchasing personnel while leading or participating in internal quality audits and assisting with external ISO and customer audits.

Our client manufactures heavy-duty, high-output alternators and power management solutions for military and specialty vehicle applications. Based in the northern suburbs of Chicago, they are a vertically integrated operation with extensive in-house machining, assembly, testing, and coating capabilities, including custom machines and tooling. With a workforce of under 400 employees, they operate within a 250,000 sq. ft. facility across three connected buildings.Description
- Head the Quality department decisions for the selection, development, and approval of new suppliers.
- Conduct supplier visits and lead audits on-site at supplier
- Implement and expand the supplier rating process
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, production and engineering
- Supervise team of inspectors and purchasing personnel
- Work in collaboration with other functional areas to support new design introduction or revisions into manufacturing.
- Lead / participate in internal quality and process audits; support external ISO, Customer & other audits as required.

Profile
- Degree in engineering or affiliated field
- 5+ years Supplier Quality Experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 systems and audit process
- Experience with metal manufacturing and electronic components
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sponsorship not provided
Job Offer
- Base Salary of $115,000+
