Client Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with Commercial Interiors experience to join our team in Manhattan, NY. The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of commercial interior projects, collaborating with project teams, managing schedules, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Description

  • Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager in coordinating day-to-day project activities, ensuring that all tasks are progressing on schedule and in alignment with project goals.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, submittals, RFI's (Requests for Information), and daily logs. Regularly update project schedules and progress reports.
  • Budget Management: Track project expenses, help manage budgets, and ensure that costs are controlled while maintaining quality standards.
  • Client & Vendor Relations: Communicate regularly with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project flow and address any issues that arise in a timely manner.
  • Site Visits & Inspections: Assist with site inspections to ensure work is being completed to specification and quality standards. Help resolve on-site issues promptly and professionally.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Work closely with subcontractors to ensure they are meeting deadlines, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all project activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.

Profile

  • Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in construction project management, specifically in Commercial Interiors.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial interior construction processes, including project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders (clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project), and other industry-related tools.
  • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues quickly and provide solutions to keep projects on track.

Job Offer

  • Location: This position is based in Manhattan, NY, with projects primarily located within the city.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
