Field Operations Manager

The Field Operations Manager is going to spearhead the US operation for my client. They will be responsible for a team of field operators as well as day to day operations across site installation, maintenance, and sanitation.

Description

Main duties:
*Company representative in the occasional absence of the Operational Manager.
*Inform Team Managers about changes in procedures and guidelines set by the company, or changes in regulations or legal requirements to be met.
*Preparation of reports about continuous improvement proposals for the operational management of the services.
*Distribute the tasks among the Team Managers for the correct execution of the work, based on the planning established by the Technical Office.
*Attend the start-up and monitoring meetings in each of the contract phases, in which operational management is discussed.
*Daily report to the Operational Manager of all circumstances and incidents that may occur out of the ordinary.
*Receipt and management of the most urgent incidents or those of a certain sensitivity reported directly by the Operational Manager.
*Detect and inform the Operational Manager of possible deviations in the service that may generate short, medium, or long term loss of quality of service, or significant economic losses or loss of corporate image for the company and/or DSNY.
*Submit proposals for new services that may arise outside the regular contract that will enhance the achievement of DSNY's objectives.
*Study and propose preventive, corrective or improvement measures on the daily analysis, as well as the monthly, quarterly and yearly summaries regarding the performance and deviations of each of the direct execution services.
*Participate in the interviews and decision making regarding the direct execution personnel of the service to be hired.
*Organize the plan for substitutions due to vacations, absenteeism, sick leave or other legal leaves or absences of the personnel in their charge.
*Prepare justification reports and employee sanctions proposals in case of non-compliance or malpractice.
*Request and justification of the increase or decrease in the number of jobs contracted for the direct execution of the service due to the needs of the contract.
*Direct contact with DSNY technicians in the regular exchange of information and control of the direct execution of street and warehouse services.

Secondary duties:
*Start-up of services. Control of the daily operation of the services.
*Planning and control of human resources for direct execution of the service according to needs.
*Planning and control of material resources according to needs.
*Coordination of the supply of the containers as required.
*Decision making in the resolution of service incidents.
*Ensure compliance with the service routes planned by the Technical Office.
*Monitoring, control and communication to the Technical Office of changes in services and itineraries as required.
*Monitoring and control of the degree of compliance with the services.
*Ensure compliance with the requirements in terms of quality, MA and PRL, set by the HSE Manager.

Profile

*Education: Higher education such as diploma or degree. Intermediate qualification in quality, environment and occupational risk prevention. Training in a compatible trade will be valued.
*Experience: Minimum five years of experience in a senior manager position in the management of urban services in large cities.
*Expertise: Technical knowledge in the planning and management of urban services, and compliance with legal requirements, especially in the areas of safety, health, occupational hygiene, quality and environment. Ability with computer tools, especially with the Office package, and specifically with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
*Skills: Proactivity, organizational and management skills, agile and decisive decision-making profile, customer orientation, technical analysis skills, teamwork and leadership.
*Languages: Professional command of English, Spanish will be valued.
*Other: Standard driver's license (SDL) required, and residence in New York City or its vicinity.
