HSE Engineer

We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-driven HSE Engineer to lead and support health, safety, and environmental initiatives within our client's manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. The ideal candidate will bring experience in heavy industry and a proactive approach to risk management and safety.

Description

• Provides comprehensive support to the project team throughout the design, construction, and start-up phases.

• Assists with all facets of Health and Safety, including SAP notifications, permitting processes, compliance documentation, tracking, and internal safety communications.

• Leads or supports the execution of internal safety initiatives and improvement projects.

• Collects, analyzes, and presents health and safety data such as monthly labor hours, incidents, key performance indicators (KPIs), OSHA logs, and other relevant metrics.

• Promotes site-wide health and wellness initiatives, including organizing blood drives, health fairs, and company-sponsored safety and wellness events.

• Conducts safety audits to ensure regulatory and company compliance, and collaborates with management to establish, implement, and monitor progress on safety improvement goals.

• Participates in or leads investigations of safety incidents to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.

• Advises management on safety considerations related to project and equipment design, as well as construction activities.

• Maintains existing safety programs and develops new ones as needed, including the delivery of training and implementation plans.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related discipline, or a combination of post-secondary education and related experience
• Safety experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience as a Safety Engineer
