Director of Packaging Engineering | Beauty Brand
We are seeking an experienced Director of Packaging Engineering to lead the development, innovation, and execution of sustainable and high-performing packaging solutions for our beauty client. This role will be responsible for overseeing packaging design, materials selection, and production processes while ensuring alignment with brand identity, sustainability goals, and regulatory requirements.

Description
- Lead the end-to-end packaging development process, from concept through commercialization, ensuring alignment with brand and operational strategies.
- Oversee the design and selection of innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective packaging materials that enhance product appeal and functionality.
- Manage and collaborate with external suppliers, manufacturers, and R&D teams to ensure high-quality packaging solutions that meet performance, cost, and sustainability goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing packaging processes for efficiency, durability, and environmental impact.
- Ensure all packaging meets regulatory and compliance standards across domestic and international markets.
- Develop and execute packaging testing protocols, including stability, compatibility, and transit testing, to ensure product integrity.
- Partner with marketing, design, operations, and procurement teams to develop innovative packaging that enhances the consumer experience.
- Lead and mentor a team of packaging engineers and specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies to position the brand as a leader in sustainable and cutting-edge packaging.
Profile
- 10+ years of experience in packaging engineering within the beauty, cosmetics, or personal care industry.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Software Experience: ArtiosCAD & SolidWorks is strongly desired.
- Expertise in packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and sustainability initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance related to beauty and personal care packaging.
- Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturers, including sourcing, testing, and production oversight.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive innovation while managing cost and efficiency considerations.
- Excellent communication and project management skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
