A Tenant Improvement Superintendent in Portland, Oregon, is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction and renovation of commercial spaces to meet the specific needs of tenants. This role involves coordinating various aspects of the project, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring that the work is completed according to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Description

  • Project Management: Oversee tenant improvement projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all phases of construction are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed, ensuring that all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring that projects remain within financial limits.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols on the job site to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of project progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed project records, including schedules, change orders, daily reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve issues that may impact project timelines, budgets, or quality.

Profile

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on tenant improvements or commercial construction.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
    • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
    • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Portland, Oregon.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Certifications: OSHA certification, first aid/CPR certification, and other relevant safety training are highly desirable.
