Electrical Design Engineer - Aerospace - Deep River, CT
This Senior Electrical Design Engineer role focuses on designing and developing analog, digital, and mixed‑signal electronics for aerospace applications. The engineer will lead hardware development, perform analyses and testing, support FAA certification activities, and ensure compliance with stringent environmental and safety standards.

Description
This Electrical Design Engineer will:
- Lead design and development of analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits for aerospace systems.
- Develop system and hardware architectures that meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with DO‑160, DO‑178, and DO‑254 standards.
- Support FAA certification processes across FAR Part 23, 25, 27, and 29.
- Perform electrical analyses, simulations, validation testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally for full system integration.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support root‑cause investigations.
- Interface with FAA representatives, DERs, and certification authorities
Profile
A successful Electrical Design Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of aerospace or advanced electronics design experience.
- Proven expertise with DO‑160, DO‑178, and familiarity with DO‑254.
- Strong experience with FAA certification processes (Part 23/25/27/29).
- Skilled in schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools (Altium, OrCAD, LTSpice).
- Strong EMI/EMC understanding and experience with power electronics, LED drivers, or avionics systems preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
