Manufacturing Engineer - Metal & Assembly - Springfield, MA
The Manufacturing Engineer develops and recommends cost effective processes that meet product and quality standards while driving continuous improvement across production. This role also supports new product launches and leads equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis throughout the plant.

Description
In the Manufacturing Engineer role, you will be responsible for:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for cost, quality, and efficiency
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and equipment issues
- Support new product launches, including process planning and team training
- Design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and support capital planning
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and visual management enhancements
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure process reliability and safety
Profile
A successful Manufacturing Engineer applicant will:
- Have a strong background in manufacturing or process engineering
- Be hands on, proactive, and solutions focused on the plant floor
- Demonstrate problem solving skills through root cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Be skilled in tooling, fixture design, and CAD drawing
- Apply continuous improvement tools such as Lean, DMAIC, and visual management (e.g., Gemba boards)
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance and production
- Adapt to changing priorities and support multiple areas such as metal finishing or plant-wide operations
- Hold a degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Have 2-3 years of experience for junior-level roles or 5+ years for senior-level consideration
