Director of Operations
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and quality control to ensure operational excellence and efficiency. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing production processes, and ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

My client is a fast growing company within the consumer packaged goods manufacturing industry. They package and distribute their products to stores and customers worldwide.
Description
The responsibilities of the Director of Operations for the personal care manufacturer are
Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's goals and growth plans.
- Manage production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource allocation.

Supply Chain & Logistics:
- Optimize the supply chain process from procurement to distribution.
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Monitor inventory levels, minimize waste, and reduce costs without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Oversee quality control processes and work closely with R&D and compliance teams.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes in the personal care industry and implement necessary adjustments.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational performance.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive innovation and efficiency.

Team Development & Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers and staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development for team members.
Profile
A successful engineering and techincal services manager candidate must have
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in operations management, preferably within personal care, cosmetics, or CPG manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, production planning, and quality control processes.
- Experience with regulatory standards such as FDA, GMP, ISO, etc.
- Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in sustainability practices within manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of product development processes in the personal care industry.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational KPIs.
