Operations Manager | CNC Machining

$120,000 - $140,000/Year

We're looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead production efforts at our aerospace manufacturing facility, specializing in precision aircraft engine components. This role requires a deep understanding of CNC Lathes, CNC Milling machines, and the machining of specialty metals.

Client Details

Our client specializes in large-scale precision machining services, including CNC milling and turning, catering to industries such as aerospace and defense. Their climate-controlled facility spans over 59,500 square feet of manufacturing space and is certified under AS9100 REV D, reflecting their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Description



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong, motivational leadership across all manufacturing operations.

  • Work closely with team leads and shop floor staff to address daily production challenges.

  • Ensure machines are equipped with correct tooling, programs, and instructions for seamless execution.

  • Take an active role in machine maintenance planning and be involved in troubleshooting and repair processes.

  • Partner with ownership on strategic initiatives, including equipment purchases and expansion planning.

  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational procedures, and lead by example in upholding them.

  • Collaborate with Production Control to optimize scheduling and ensure efficient workflow.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on reducing rework and setup time.

  • Create a positive team environment, support skill development, and set clear training expectations.

  • Ensure full compliance with PPE usage and enforce workplace safety best practices.

Profile



Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations or plant management, ideally in aerospace or precision manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and specialty metals.

  • Exceptional communication and team-building skills.

  • Adept at identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable process improvements.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable with data analysis, reporting, and project oversight.

  • Familiarity with quality systems and production standards.
