Construction Assistant Superintendent - New Jersey

Currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the successful on-site execution of a ground-up, wood-frame multifamily project in Montclair. Description

• Assist the Superintendent with daily job site operations on a ground-up wood-frame multifamily project

• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure work stays on schedule and meets quality standards

• Enforce site safety protocols and ensure OSHA compliance

• Monitor framing, utility installation, and finish work to ensure adherence to plans and specs

• Maintain accurate field documentation including daily logs, progress photos, punch lists, and inspection reports

• Help manage delivery logistics, material staging, and equipment coordination

• Support site meetings, inspections, and walk-throughs with stakeholders

Profile

• 3-5 years of experience in residential or multifamily construction, preferably with ground-up wood-frame projects

• Knowledge of construction sequencing, site safety, and trade coordination

• Strong communication and organizational skills with a 'boots-on-the-ground' mindset

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications

• Familiarity with project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or Buildertrend

• OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
