Description
The Estimator - MEP Experience - Top Local GC will have the following responsibilities:
- Review project documents to develop detailed subcontractor scopes of work for multiple projects at once.
- Work with design partners to ensure complete and accurate scopes of work on design-build projects.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to answer questions, negotiate, and ensure proper coverage for each project.
- Perform quantity take-offs, summarize quantities in estimate files, and draft pricing including self-perform work.
- Attend project site visits and pre-proposal meetings.
- Review project documents for RFIs, identify scope gaps, and document design omissions.
- Engage in industry networking events to build and maintain subcontractor relationships.
- Coordinate with the estimating team to ensure proper scoping and coordination across all trades.
- Prepare for bid days by reviewing proposals, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring bid readiness.
Profile
As an MEP Estimator, you'll play a critical role in the Estimating and Preconstruction department, working closely with the Director of Estimating. Your focus will be on estimating MEP scopes, including fire suppression, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and you'll be involved in competitive bids, design-build projects, and conceptual estimates. This position offers a dynamic work environment with the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for a prestigious, growing firm.
The Estimator - MEP Experience - Top Local GC will have:
- Minimum 3 years of experience estimating MEP scopes for a general contractor or subcontractor.
- Strong focus on fire suppression, plumbing, and mechanical systems (electrical and low voltage experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in MS Office is required; experience with BuildingConnected, Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
