The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that fabrics and materials meet established quality standards through testing, inspection, and process monitoring. They collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot defects, implement quality control measures, and drive continuous improvements to enhance product consistency and compliance

Description

  • Lead investigations and reporting for root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Prepare detailed reports for corrective actions
  • Oversee RMA processes and provide updates on outstanding cases
  • Review and resolve material nonconformance reports (DMRs)
  • Lead or participate in improvement projects and events
  • Support plant equipment repair, upgrades, and maintenance efforts
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits
  • Develop and update inspection procedures
  • Perform material inspections, including metallography
  • Generate and analyze material testing reports
  • Provide training on inspection tools and systems
  • Define machine capability parameters for key equipment
  • Monitor and report on supplier quality performance
  • Compile and present progress or status reports
  • Conduct materials and dimensional testing to support quality technicians

Profile

  • Degree in a scientific field (BS or AS with relevant experience)
  • Experience with process improvement frameworks (e.g., FMEA, Six Sigma)
  • Proven report writing skills
  • 3+ years in dimensional inspection within manufacturing
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office
  • In-depth knowledge of inspection tools and methods
  • Strong understanding of process improvement tools and methodologies
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create visual data representations
  • Experience with metallographic inspections (preferred)
  • Solid modeling skills with SolidWorks (preferred)
  • Practical experience with statistical analysis (preferred)
  • Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate objects and materials
  • LOCAL to Worcester, MA or able to commute
