Superintendent - Light Industrial Construction

Our client is a well-established General Contractor operating throughout Ohio with a reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and industrial construction projects. Their portfolio includes a wide range of developments across multiple sectors, including some of the state's most recognizable projects.

They are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations and contribute to the successful delivery of light industrial construction projects.

Description

The Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily on-site construction activities to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.

  • Developing and maintaining project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.

  • Leading regular subcontractor coordination meetings to communicate project priorities and resolve jobsite challenges.

  • Monitoring workforce levels and adjusting manpower planning to maintain productivity and meet project deadlines.

  • Enforcing company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite safety procedures.

  • Coordinating and verifying material deliveries while ensuring proper storage and installation practices.

  • Conducting quality control inspections to ensure work meets contract documents and project specifications.

  • Coordinating equipment needs, site logistics, and jobsite access to maintain efficient operations.

  • Identifying potential delays or risks early and working with the project team to implement solutions.

  • Mentoring and supporting field personnel to promote professional development and strong team performance.

Profile

The Superintendent will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in large-scale ground-up commercial construction.

  • Experience working on light industrial, warehouse, distribution center, or cold storage projects valued at $25M or more preferred.

  • Familiarity with tilt-wall, precast, or cast-in-place concrete construction is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes and field coordination.

  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules.

  • Proficiency in reviewing construction documents including drawings and specifications.

  • Strong communication skills with project stakeholders including subcontractors, architects, consultants, and clients.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Offer

The Superintendent will be offered:

  • $110,000 - $130,000 base salary depending on experience
