Event Planner
Our nonprofit client is seeking an Event Planner to support them for an event in August 2025. The ideal candidate will have prior event experience within operations and logistics from start to finish.
This role is 10-15 hours per week, remote (must be local to NYC) & commit from March to August 2025.

Responsibilities:
- Support with logistics and operations leading up to an event this summer 2025
- Collaborate with internal employees to develop and manage a strategic plan for the inaugural event, including critical deliverables, key time lines, high level stakeholders for VIP invitations, and other task assignments.
- Coordinate event logistics such as catering, Eventbrite registration, communications with confirmed and prospective attendees, as well as day-of the event activities such as technology setup, check-ins, etc.
- Collaborate with members of the Tech team and other stakeholders to design the event program, including keynotes, panel presentations, fireside chat, and networking opportunities.
- Manage invitations and RSVPs to current and prospective funders, internal staff and other individuals who come in via the public registration process.
- Act as the primary point of contact for individuals who will play a key role in the event, including venue staff and potential speakers.
- In partnership with internal MarComms, develop and implement an integrated strategy for promoting the event to the public, including through email campaigns and social media.
- Oversee day of the event logistics, including ensuring that setup, registration, speaker coordination is seamless and any troubleshooting required occurs with expediency and as needed.
- Manage post-event activities as needed and as directed.
- Manage fast-moving time lines and deliverables to meet deadlines - as needed.
Profile
Qualifications:
- Prior experience executing events from start to finish
- Completed college degree in event management, public relations, marketing, communications-related field
- Experience working in nonprofit, communications, or public relations-focused environments.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and moving pieces at once.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and adhere to budgets.
- Experience with public speaking, presentations to diverse audiences and/or donor communications.
- Ability to commute to Manhattan (as needed).
- Commitment to a contract from March to August 2025.
