Automation- Electrical Engineering Manager - Hartford, CT
This is a hands‑on Electrical Engineering Manager opportunity overseeing the design, development, and execution of electrical engineering projects supporting industrial automation, renewable energy, and mission‑critical power applications. The role balances people leadership with individual technical contribution and plays a key role in shaping engineering standards, processes, and long‑term technical direction.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of electrical engineers and technicians
- Design and develop UL‑compliant control panels, power distribution, and protection systems
- Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into manufacturable designs
- Prepare CAD drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for proposals and production
- Serve as a technical authority during design reviews, testing, and risk analysis
- Drive improvements in engineering tools, workflows, and design methodologies
- Manage engineering resources, timelines, and project priorities
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure on‑time delivery
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years in a formal leadership or technical lead role
- Strong knowledge of NEC and UL standards (UL508A required; UL891, UL687A, UL98B preferred)
- Hands‑on experience with automation control systems and/or power system design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical
- Familiarity with Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell Automation products
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (EPICOR preferred)
