Sr. Planner/Scheduler
The Senior Production Planner plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the production process within a manufacturing or production-based company. Their main responsibility is to ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and within the allocated time and cost constraints.

Description
- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, and resource availability.
- Plan and coordinate production activities to meet deadlines while minimizing downtime and optimizing the use of resources (labor, equipment, materials).
- Ensure that production goals and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are met consistently.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce waste and improve production lead times.
- Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes.
Profile
- Effective Scheduling: Being able to prioritize tasks, balance competing demands, and create efficient production schedules is crucial. They ensure that production deadlines are met without compromising quality or safety.
- Time Management: They are adept at managing their time and resources to handle complex production plans and potential disruptions effectively.
- Handling Disruptions: The ability to address unforeseen problems like supply chain delays, equipment breakdowns, or resource shortages quickly and effectively is essential.
- Creative Solutions: Developing contingency plans, optimizing workflows, and suggesting process improvements to overcome bottlenecks and production issues demonstrates adaptability and resourcefulness.
- Data-Driven Decisions: A Senior Production Planner should be comfortable analyzing production data, identifying trends, and using software tools (like ERP systems) to predict demand and adjust schedules accordingly.
- Forecasting: They must be able to forecast future production needs based on historical data, market trends, and upcoming orders to ensure the right amount of resources are available.
