The Estimator - Multifamily Projects - Top GC in NoVA will be responsible for:preparing detailed cost estimates for multifamily construction projects, considering various factors such as materials, labor, equipment, permits, subcontractor bids, and overhead costs
performing quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering plans to determine the amount of materials and labor required for each phase of the construction project.
soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluating them to ensure the most competitive and cost-effective options are selected
collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets and monitoring expenses throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to the budget
identifying potential cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and providing alternative solutions without compromising the quality of the project
maintaining accurate and detailed records of cost estimates, budgets, change orders, and other relevant project documentation.
building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure a reliable network of resources for future projects
staying updated on industry trends, labor costs, material prices, and other factors that may impact project costs to provide the most accurate estimates
collaborating closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, construction managers, and other stakeholders, to coordinate and integrate estimating efforts
identifying potential risks and uncertainties related to project cost estimates and proposing appropriate mitigation strategies

Client Details
Our client is one of the mid-Atlantic's top General Contractors. They are family-owned and have been in business for over 50 years. They have multiple offices throughout the area, with the majority of their work located between Falls Church and Richmond. Their bread and butter is Multifamily construction with the majority of their projects valued between $30 and $100M, however they have completed projects worth $200M+. They have been consistently growing in headcount and revenue year over year and as a result are looking to grow their team. They are currently looking to hire an experienced Estimator that has multifamily projects in their portfolio.
Description
The Estimator - Multifamily Projects - Top GC in NoVA will be responsible for:
- preparing detailed cost estimates for multifamily construction projects, considering various factors such as materials, labor, equipment, permits, subcontractor bids, and overhead costs

Profile
The Estimator - Multifamily Projects - Top GC in NoVA will have:
- at least 2 years of experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor
- multifamily project experience required
- a bachelor's degree in a construction related field preferred
- proficiency in construction estimating software, spreadsheets and other relevant tools
- strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- ability to handle multiple project simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
- strong problem-solving skills
