The mechanical engineer will work on designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and devices. The mechanical engineers will apply principles of physics and mathematics to develop and refine mechanical systems, ensuring they function efficiently and reliably.

Client Details

Our client is a family owned and operated business in Fairfield County, Connecticut. They have a facility that is over 10,000 square feet and provide fabrication from production to finishing.

Description



1. Design and Development:

  • Conceptualization: Develop and conceptualize mechanical systems, components, or products based on project requirements.
  • Detailed Design: Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
  • Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure functionality.


2. Analysis and Problem-Solving:

  • Engineering Analysis: Perform calculations and simulations to analyze mechanical performance, including stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to mechanical systems, designs, or manufacturing processes.


3. Testing and Evaluation:

  • Performance Testing: Conduct tests to evaluate the performance, durability, and safety of mechanical systems and products.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulations, and implement quality control measures.


4. Project Management:

  • Project Planning: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for mechanical engineering projects.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, designers, and stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met.


5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, challenges, and solutions.


6. Manufacturing Support:

  • Production Oversight: Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are implemented correctly and resolve any production issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving manufacturing processes, materials, or technologies.


7. Compliance and Safety:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Safety: Implement safety protocols and standards to ensure safe operation and use of mechanical systems.


8. Innovation and Improvement:

  • Research: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for enhancement and efficiency gains.


9. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Requirements Gathering: Work with clients or stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into design solutions.
  • Presentations: Present design concepts, project updates, and technical information to clients or stakeholders.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience (1+ years) in mechanical design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools and simulation software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
