Description
Responsible for developing the budgets and scopes of work for all projects
- Develops preliminary estimates for potential clients
- Creates project-specific final scopes of work
- Leads outreach efforts to subcontractors
- Obtains bids with particular attention to M/WBE, Section 3, and prevailing wage requirements
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness
- Hands off project budget to the Project Management team and assists the team in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers through final bidding and buyout
- Assists with certain post-bid buyouts as needed
- Develops and maintains historic cost database to maximize estimating efficiency and increase conceptual estimating accuracy
- Establishes and maintains standard scope of work packages for each trade
- Builds and maintains relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Interacts with clients, architects, and engineers as needed
Profile
- 5+ years of Estimating experience
- Experience with projects with contract value of $15M+
- Experience in multifamily housing, especially affordable housing, preferred
- Self-starter with ability to work under moderate supervision
- Comfortable soliciting subs in newer markets where client is expanding
- Proficient with Building Connected or similar preconstruction software
Job Offer
- Base salary: $90k - $120k, dependent on experience
- Bonus earning potential
