Lead Estimator - Commercial Construction
A well-known General Contractor in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator with a strong background in institutional and public sector construction. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who excels in preconstruction and cost analysis for K-12, municipal, and healthcare projects.

Our client is a respected and long-established General Contractor with a strong presence in South Florida. Known for their quality work, collaborative culture, and portfolio of complex commercial and institutional builds, they consistently deliver projects on time and within budget for both public and private clients.
Description
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects
Analyze drawings, specs, and other documentation to develop scopes and budgets
Manage bid process, including outreach and coordination with subcontractors and vendors
Perform quantity take-offs and create detailed pricing models
Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and value engineering discussions
Collaborate closely with project managers and leadership to support project strategy
Maintain a working knowledge of current industry pricing, market trends, and local conditions
Profile
10+ years of experience estimating for a General Contractor, preferably in Florida
Demonstrated expertise in K-12, healthcare, municipal, or institutional construction
Strong understanding of local codes, permitting, and bid environments
Proficient with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, OST, Procore, Sage, or similar
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
A degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred but not required
