Accountant/Bookkeeper

Our client, a well established construction company based in Uniondale, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper. This is a full time role, and the successful candidate will have prior experience in construction & exposure to Sage 100 & ProCore.

Client Details

Regional construction contractor based in Uniondale, Nassau County. This role is 5 days per week in office, and offers a chance to work with a large and respected leader in construction in NY.

Description

You will be asked to:

* Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounts payable/receivable

* Track and manage project budgets and expenses

* Process invoices, purchase orders, subcontracts, and payment requests

* Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized

* Manage accounts payable and oversee timely payments

* Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments

* Assist with lien releases, contractor licenses, and insurance certificates

* Ensure compliance with tax laws and construction regulations

* Collaborate with internal teams and maintain client/vendor relationships

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

✔ Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

✔ Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in bookkeeping, preferably in the construction industry

✔ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sage 100
