Staff Accountant | Industrial MFG Leader | Chicago Heights, IL
Our client is looking for a growing accounting professional to join their team in Chicago Heights, IL to focus on general accounting, AR and gain exposure to the month end close process. This role will provide you the opportunity to learn from a strong Controller and accounting department and gain exposure in a global manufacturing organization.
Client Details
I am partnered with a global manufacturer that is a division of a global firm with private equity backing. Our client is hiring for an Accountant in their Chicago Heights, IL corporate office to report directly into their Controller. This team is rapidly growing and looking to develop a strong accountant to promote internally over the next coming years. Our client is looking for a growing accounting professional to join their team in University Park, IL to focus on general accounting, AR and gain exposure to the month end close process. This role will provide you the opportunity to learn from a strong Controller and accounting department and gain exposure in a global manufacturing organization.
Description
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collections and accurate application of payments.
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate aging reports and provide regular updates to management.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve AR issues.
- Accurately generate and process Manufacturer's Statement of Origins in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of the general ledger each month.
- Support variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations in AR and related accounts.
- Maintain and update accounting schedules and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Assist with audits and internal controls related to AR and revenue recognition.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support other accounting functions as needed, including AP and payroll.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- At least one year of experience in accounting
- Experience within the manufacturing, distribution or adjacent industry
