Construction Assistant Project Manager - Brooklyn, NY
Our client is a well-established general contractor specializing in public sector construction projects across the five boroughs. With a strong track record delivering for city and state agencies-including DDC, DOT, DEP, and SCA-the firm is recognized for its integrity, quality of work, and collaborative project approach.
Client Details
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join the team and support the successful delivery of public infrastructure and building projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with NYC agencies and a solid understanding of the documentation, compliance, and coordination required on public contracts.
Description
Assist the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of construction from pre-construction through closeout.
Coordinate daily communication between the field, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with public agency requirements.
Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and cost reports.
Participate in site walks, progress meetings, and inspections.
Support documentation and reporting for DDC, SCA, or similar public agency projects.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
2-5 years of experience in construction, ideally within public works or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with NYC agency procedures (SCA, DDC, DEP, DOT, DASNY, etc.).
Proficiency in Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
