Manufacturing Engineer | Thermal Spray
The Manufacturing Engineer duties include new job quotations, Job Standard development, tool design, customer interface and the coordination with Production Control, Purchasing and Sales to assure that delivery requirements are met.

Description
Responsibilities Overview:
This position is responsible for preparing accurate job estimates, developing manufacturing standards, designing tooling, interfacing with customers, and collaborating across internal departments such as Production Control, Purchasing, and Sales to meet delivery expectations.
Quoting New Jobs:
When a customer submits a request for quotation, the engineer evaluates and prepares a comprehensive cost estimate. This includes defining the manufacturing sequence, estimating cycle times, identifying tooling and vendor needs, outlining inspection and shipping procedures, and determining lead times to fulfill the order.
Creating Manufacturing Standards:
Upon receiving an order, the engineer develops a Job Standard based on the original estimate or an existing standard. This document serves as the detailed blueprint for Manufacturing and becomes the official Work Order Traveler. The engineer ensures all specifications, drawings, and special customer instructions from the purchase order are accurately incorporated.
The engineer is also responsible for keeping the Job Standard current by revising it to reflect any process changes or improvements during production.
Tooling and Fixture Design:
The engineer conceptualizes and designs any required jigs, fixtures, or tooling that will ensure high-quality production while balancing cost-efficiency. Key considerations include tool durability, production volume, ease of use, and manufacturing cost.
Production Coordination:
Close coordination with Production Control is essential to align tooling and standard release timelines with production schedules and customer deadlines.
Profile
Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, etc.)
- Familiarity with Office365, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Ability to create and interpret manufacturing drawings
- Experience with using and handling Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE), including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, indicators, comparators, etc.
- Ability to apply design for manufacture (DFM) principles
- Ability to read and understand English
Job Offer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in SolidCAM or equivalent CAM software
- Competent in G-Code & M-Code CNC Programming
- Functional understanding of control systems, control panels, and/or industrial robotic programming
- Experience working in a machine shop (milling, turning, grinding), specifically with stainless steels, Inconel, and other super-alloys
- Experience working with additive manufacturing, especially with FDM printing
- Experience creating manufacturing work instructions and shop routers
- Experience interpreting technical specifications (material specs, process specs, AMS, ASTM, etc.)
- Experience working with thermal spray coatings and/or solid film lubricants applications
- Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100, FAA Part 145, and/or NADCAP environment
