Description

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the estimating department, overseeing the preparation and execution of bids for projects ranging from $2M to $20M. You will lead the bid process for larger jobs, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accuracy of estimates. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in national bidding and a strong ability to manage complex, high-value projects.

The Senior Estimator - Commercial, Retail, Industrial - DC Metro will have the following responsibilities:

• Acting as bid captain for larger projects, ensuring all scope elements are covered.
• Managing entire estimates including coordinating with subcontractors, reviewing specifications, and ensuring bids reflect the project scope.
• Providing leadership to a team of assistant estimators and overseeing the final bid process.
• Specialized knowledge of unique project needs (e.g., understanding requirements for specialized facilities such as jails, including bulletproof glass).
• Acting as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful bidding.

Profile

The Senior Estimator - Commercial, Retail, Industrial - DC Metro will have the following qualifications:

• Extensive experience in commercial construction estimating, including national bidding experience.
• Proficiency in managing large-scale estimates, ensuring no scope is overlooked.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and the ability to read and interpret complex project specifications.
• Experience with diverse project types such as retail, municipal, industrial, and public sector projects.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of estimators in a collaborative environment.
• Willingness to be in-office on bid days with some flexibility for remote work after successful onboarding (typically 1-2 days a week).
