Engineering Manager - Manufacturing - Kennebunk, ME
In this role, the Engineering Manager will assume full responsibility for guiding engineering teams, shaping project strategy, and ensuring both day‑to‑day and long‑term operational excellence. Projects span a wide range - from small‑scale system modifications for local businesses to major capital initiatives with large enterprise clients - requiring a leader with strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and complete ownership of outcomes.

My client is a leading provider of packaging systems that serve a variety of industries. They are currently seeking a driven and seasoned Engineering Manager to oversee 8 reports and lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of complex project work.
Description
The Engineering Manager will:
- Lead and mentor Engineers/Project Managers to ensure robust technical strategy, effective delivery, and compliant system designs.
- Facilitate consistent communication of project and engineering information across internal teams and with external customers.
- Ensure engineering teams establish and meet milestones, deadlines, goals, and performance expectations.
- Implement and drive organizational initiatives that support long‑term operational excellence and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Support employee development through ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations aligned with company policies.
- Resolve internal and external conflicts to maintain strong working relationships and project continuity.
- Develop departmental performance metrics; provide bi‑weekly updates and conduct comprehensive reviews twice per year.
- Foster a culture that attracts, develops, and retains top engineering and project management talent.

Profile
A successful Engineering Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline.
- 4+ years of management experience within a process‑engineering‑related field.
- Hands‑on experience designing sanitary fluid process systems.
- Strong analytical mindset and engineering-based problem‑solving approach.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to build actionable improvement plans that increase efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Proven ability to facilitate alignment among stakeholders with differing viewpoints.
- Demonstrated project management expertise, including oversight of quality, cost, and schedules.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High adaptability with a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond typical role boundaries.
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements.
Job Offer
