Senior Estimator - Civil Construction - Boston

Description
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents to accurately estimate the scope and cost of civil construction projects
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to support bid pricing.
- Develop bid proposals and submit tenders for public and private sector projects.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather essential information.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams during the pre-construction phase.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data, unit prices, and production rates.
- Identify potential risks, value engineering options, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and market conditions affecting construction costs.
- Support contract negotiations and project handovers.
Profile
- 10-15+ years of relatable experience
- Degree in construction management, engineering or related (preferred, not required)
- Proven track record of success supporting projects in the civil construction space including sitework, utilities, electrical distribution, earthwork, etc.
- Strong computer/software capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership ability or interest in managing others
