Client Details

Our client is a well-established commercial and government general contractor with over 65 years of experience. Ranked among the top 400 ENR contractors, they handle a wide range of projects, including commercial, education, healthcare, civic, municipal, and government sectors. Although originally based in California, they are expanding into the Maryland area to follow a client. They have several upcoming projects at the Indian Head military base and are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team and take the lead on exciting, high-profile projects.

Description

The Superintendent - Federal/Government Projects - Maryland will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of multiple projects with budgets up to $30M.
  • Coordinating and communicating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project timelines, quality, and budgets are met.
  • Managing both self-performed and subcontracted work, providing oversight of subcontractor performance.
  • Providing estimates and managing the construction means and methods related to commercial and institutional buildings.
  • Ensuring projects comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including maintaining current safety certifications.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress to senior management, ensuring timely execution and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Utilizing project management software and other tools to track project status, costs, and timelines.


Profile

The Superintendent - Federal/Government Projects - Maryland will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or 7+ years of directly related experience in place of a degree.
  • At least 7 years of experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor, or 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in managing construction projects, including estimating and overseeing both subcontracted and self-performed work.
  • Experience with construction methods for commercial and institutional buildings, as well as site work.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting is preferred.
  • Current OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications required.
  • CQC certification from USACE/NAVFAC is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is also a plus.

Job Offer

The Superintendent - Federal/Government Projects - Maryland will receive:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Monthly vehicle allowance, gas card, EZ pass, and paid parking.
  • Annual performance-based bonus of 10% - 15%.
  • 3 weeks of vacation and 6 sick days accrued each year.
  • 401(k) with a 50% company match up to 6%, vesting 25% each year.
