Production Manager
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and motivating the activities of all assigned employees to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency goals. They will develop the team through teaching, coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
Client Details
A prominent specialized manufacturer of premium frozen foods, our client caters to clients in branded retail, private label, and foodservice sectors. They employ a comprehensive approach that spans from developing innovative new products or faithfully reproducing existing recipes to overseeing the entire production and packaging process. Their diverse custom product range encompasses poultry, meat, and fish specialties, along with pastas, soups, sauces, certified organic, and vegetarian options.
Description
- Responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of manufacturing processes
- Ensure production processes run reliably and efficiently, adhering to quality control standards
- Plan and oversee production schedules
- Ensure production resource requirements are met
- Maintain labor and materials budget, meeting established timelines
- Comply with all health and safety standards
- Train, motivate, mentor, and manage staff
- Maintain departmental personnel records and reports on productivity, quality, and attendance
- Develop and implement schedules to meet or exceed production plans
- Monitor departmental productivity to ensure established quality and production levels are maintained or exceeded
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree is a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred
- Five or more years of managerial experience in a food production environment
- Ideal candidate will have GFSI or SQF training and/or certification
- Strong familiarity with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Must have experience with GMP procedures, USDA/FDA compliance, sanitation, and maintaining a HACCP program
- Solid knowledge of food manufacturing equipment and systems
- Experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Experience with inventory management systems, particularly using RF scanners
