Accounting Associate
Our client, an established business consulting firm based in Westchester, is looking for an accounting associate. This is a temp to perm role, and the successful candidate will be immediately available to start a new role.

Established business consulting firm based in Rye, Westchester. This role is Tue-Thu in office with Monday & Friday from home, and offers a chance to work for a global leader in business consulting.
Description
This role will involve:
Invoice Raising:
• Work with Global billing specialist and local Client support team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing across the AMS region, including resolving Sales Order and customer queries and working with external advisors in Brazil.
• Support submission of invoices to AMS customers with portal set up.
Customer set up and collections:
• Support Global Collections Controller with customer set up required for AMS region.
• Receive and bank checks as required, initiate credit card links for customer payments.
Invoice Processing:
• Receive, review, and process invoices from suppliers across the TGP Group.
• Verify invoice accuracy, appropriate coding, and proper authorization.
• Ensure invoices are accurately recorded in the accounting system (and POs have been appropriately raised).
Supplier Management:
• Maintain supplier master data, including contact information, payment terms, and banking details.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, obtain missing documentation, and address payment-related inquiries.
Payment Processing:
• Prepare and process electronic payments, including checks, and wire transfers, in accordance with established payment terms.
• Reconcile payment records and confirm accurate payment application.
Month-End Close:
• Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing accounts payable reconciliations and accruals and bank/credit card reconciliations.
• Support Global Collections Controller with allocation of cash as required.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
• Enforce internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.
• Participate in system enhancements and upgrades related to accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Reporting and Analysis:
• Provide input into cash reporting or other ad-hoc reporting requirements for the AMS region.
Training and Development:
• Provide and participate in training as required.
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Experience in managing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable in a complex organizational setting with experience within the AMS region
3. Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices related to AP & AR specific to the AMS region.
4. Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., NetSuite ERP system) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
7. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Organized with strong time management skills.
9. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
