Assistant Project Manager

Michael Page Dallas, TX (Onsite) Full-Time
$110,000 - $140,000/Year

The qualified individual will plan, direct and coordinate activities related to the construction and maintenance of higher education structures, facilities and systems. This individual will also participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and lead its organization, design, estimate, implementation, schedule and budget from conception to close while developing and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Client Details

Our client is a General Contractor that specializes in new construction and renovation projects with a diverse educational, commercial, and private projects- primarily higher education and K-12. They have a deep backlog of projects for the next several years and are looking for a project manager to grow with the team.

Description

  • Provide leadership and direction on construction projects
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site and corporate staff to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
  • Work with the Project team to develop a work plan, establish priorities and assign tasks
  • Coordinate the preparation of the schedule and long term planning
  • Implement, monitor, update and communicate the progress schedule and its periodic revisions
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts: review and approve budgets, cost reports, rental equipment and expenses
  • Perform the final review of internal items such as Cost Analysis, Monthly Billing, Master Cost Breakdown and Monthly Reports
  • Manage subcontractor schedules, quality of work, coordination with other trades and payments
  • Create and maintain a safe/secure job site environment
  • Review and approve drawings and samples prior to submittal
  • Train and develop the Project team and schedule project resources

Profile

  • 5+ years of construction experience
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture preferred
  • Strong background in Construction, specifically Education OR Municipal
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • The ability to work in a fast paced work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The desire to grow their career professionally
  • Strong track record with client relationships
  • Procore Certification
  • OSHA
