Manufacturing Engineer | Metal Fabrication | Crystal Lake, IL
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for implementing standardized processes to improve production processes, reduce costs, and enhance quality. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with shop floor personnel, identify and eliminate bottlenecks, and drive permanent corrective actions.

Our client is a family owned manufacturer of top of the line machinery, serving the food and beverage industry. They are growing steadily right now, and are continuing to invest back into the business. With new equipment and technology being implemented, they are prepared to ramp up their operation even further, and seek an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the team!
Description
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with shop floor personnel to understand current manufacturing processes and develop value stream maps to identify bottleneck operations.
- Develop standard work, visual work instructions, and creative solutions to assist operators in mixed model production assembly lines.
- Conduct time studies to balance production lines and develop methods for measuring labor efficiency.
- Identify, assess, and recommend new capital equipment to increase throughput; manage project life-cycle from concept to implementation.
- Design and implement inventory replenishment systems to support assembly lines, reduce stock-outs, and optimize labor for bin replenishment.
- Propose and manage facility layout improvements to enhance workflow; manage project implementation once approved.
- Train employees on new processes, work methods, and equipment to improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers to explore new technologies that can enhance manufacturing processes.
- Work alongside Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability of new product designs.
- Lead the setup of new manufacturing lines, including inventory replenishment, material handling, packaging, and establishing work methods and standards.
Profile
The successful applicant will posses the following:
- BS in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (required)
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with PRO-E 3D design software
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, welding, injection molding, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to independently identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions
- Strong project management skills, organizational abilities, and effective communication (both verbal and written)
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and goal achievement

Job Offer
- Base salary $80,000 - $100,000 depending on level of experience
- Annual bonus incentive based on personal metrics & company performance
- 401k plan
