Project Engineer
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction projects from planning through completion. Duties include managing schedules, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring budgets, and providing technical support to the project team. Acts as a key liaison between field operations and management to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

My client is a licensed general contractor based in California, specializing in commercial construction across Southern California. Founded in 2018, the company has expanded to include offices in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area, employing over 40 professionals.
Description
Project Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timelines are met and resources are allocated efficiently.Technical Support:
Provide engineering and technical guidance to the project team, resolving design or construction issues.Coordination & Communication:
Act as a liaison between project managers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth workflow.Quality Control:
Monitor project quality to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.Budget & Cost Management:
Assist in budget preparation, track expenses, and support cost control measures throughout the project.Site Supervision:
Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely and according to plan.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, prepare progress reports, and update project stakeholders regularly.Risk Management:
Identify potential project risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies.Procurement Support:
Assist with ordering materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the site.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies on site.
Profile
The ideal candidate has proven experience in managing commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements involved. They have hands-on experience working for a reputable general contractor, with a solid background in coordinating construction activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
