Our client is a reputable, family-owned General Contractor based just outside of Richmond. They have been in business for over 50 years servicing medical, finance, retail, multifamily, and municipal clients throughout the Greater Richmond and Central Virginia areas. Their projects typically range from $2M to $10M+. They currently have a number of projects coming up in the area and are looking for an experienced Superintendent to join their team.

Description

The Superintendent - Commercial Construction - Richmond will be responsible for:

• supervising the daily construction activities and quality control of all subcontractors.
• supervising the coordination of field efforts between trades to achieve a timely and profitable completion in strict accordance with contract documents and specifications, law and safety requirements.
• effectively communicating relevant project information to superiors.
• attending weekly subcontractor and owner/architect meetings.
• monitoring site safety protocols.
• tracking manpower and completing daily reports.
• assisting with quality control oversight.
• assisting with field office document control.
• assisting with creating look-ahead schedules.
• monitoring and tracking site deliveries.
• verifying all materials, equipment, and installation are in compliance with approved submittals and contract documents
• working in partnership with PM to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project

Profile

The Superintendent - Commercial Construction - Richmond will have:

• at least 5 years of experience in commercial construction
• ability to run projects autonomously from start to finish
• new construction experience required
• experience managing projects between $2M and $10M
• experience with Procore or similar project management software
• excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• strong organizational skills
