Senior Project Manager - Light Industrial Projects
Client Details
Our client is a highly respected general contractor with a strong footprint across the Chicagoland construction market. They specialize in delivering complex light industrial, commercial, and advanced facility projects, partnering with top developers and end‑users in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and technology sectors.
Their project portfolio includes:
- Light industrial facilities (distribution centers, manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, cold storage)
- Commercial buildings (office, retail, corporate interiors, medical)
- Specialty structures requiring complex electrical, mechanical, or structural integration
Description
- Lead full project life cycle for light industrial and commercial construction projects
- Manage project budgets, schedules, cost controls, and financial forecasts
- Oversee subcontractor coordination, procurement, and contract management
- Serve as primary point of contact with owners, architects/engineers, and key stakeholders
- Conduct regular project progress meetings and ensure alignment across teams
- Develop and manage site logistics plans, QA/QC processes, and safety compliance
- Review drawings, specifications, RFI responses, and change orders
- Mentor and provide guidance to project engineers, assistant PMs, and field staff
- Ensure successful project turnover, closeout documentation, and client satisfaction
Profile
- 7-10+ years of construction project management experience
- Strong background in light industrial construction (distribution, manufacturing, logistics) required
- Experience in commercial projects is a plus
- Proven track record managing large‑scale or complex projects
- Strong financial, scheduling, and contract management capabilities
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficient with construction management software and documentation tools
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
