Mechanical Estimator
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will oversee the preparation of comprehensive and competitive estimates for piping and mechanical projects. You will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications, blueprints, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates while leading and mentoring junior staff. Your expertise will contribute to the company's success in securing contracts and delivering high-quality projects.

I am working with a well-established Mechanical Contractor in the Danbury, CT area, renowned for its expertise in piping, HVAC, and mechanical systems. The company is dedicated to delivering exceptional results across a variety of projects. They are currently seeking a seasoned Mechanical Estimator to join their team and lead the estimation process for large-scale mechanical projects.
Description
- Review and analyze bid specifications, blueprints, and project requirements.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for piping, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct material take-offs and labor calculations.
- Source pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Lead pre-bid meetings and communicate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership to finalize bid proposals.
- Identify and assess potential project risks and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior estimators within the team.
Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, with a strong emphasis on piping systems.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical construction, including piping and HVAC.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
- Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
