Quality Manager - Metal Manufacturing - Bellingham, MA
The Quality Manager will oversee the distribution, processing, and fabrication of metal products, ensuring quality standards are met across multiple industries such as aerospace, marine, and construction. They will manage day-to-day quality operations, including overseeing inspections, leading process improvements, and ensuring customer specifications are met through value-added services like laser cutting and precision machining at our Bellingham facility.

They serve a wide range of industries, including aerospace, construction, marine, and more, offering a variety of shapes, sizes, and alloys to meet specific customer needs out of their Bellingham site. Description
The Quality Manager (Industrial Metal Manufacturing) Will:
- Develop and manage the quality manual, processes, and procedures for rejected materials.
- Oversee daily quality control for both incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring compliance with ASTM and ANSI standards.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, purchasing, and customers to implement and maintain quality standards.
- Lead and manage the quality system across all locations, ensuring it adapts to changing requirements.
- Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Manage internal and external audits, with a focus on supplier quality and customer audits.
- Utilize metrology knowledge to validate product quality and ensure specifications are met.
- Generate regular reports to track and manage quality issues across the organization.
- Guide and mentor future quality team members as the department grows.
- Ensure that all materials meet customer specifications through rigorous testing and inspection.
- Collaborate with various teams to resolve quality control issues in real-time.
- Provide leadership in maintaining and improving the overall quality system.
Profile
- Candidates with Quality Engineer (QE) experience looking to step into a Quality Manager (QM) role are encouraged to apply!
- Strong attention to detail in all aspects of quality assurance and control.
- Background in industrial or manufacturing settings, with experience in industrial manufacturing and metals preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, particularly in certification and implementation.
- Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
- Proficiency in computer systems and database management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Solid understanding of testing, version control, and defect management best practices.
- Experience with both internal and external audits, especially with suppliers and customer audits.
- Professional certification such as Six Sigma, CQE, or CQA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field is desired.
- Understanding of ASTM, SAE, and ANSI standards; experience with Aluminum Standards & Data a plus.
