A well-established and growing organization is seeking a highly skilled Patent Paralegal to support their Intellectual Property team. Description

  • Manage the preparation, filing, prosecution, and maintenance of U.S., PCT, and foreign patent applications.
  • Respond to patent formalities and prepare corrective patent documents with minimal oversight.
  • Utilize systems such as Patent Center, EFS-Web, EPAS, and ePCT for electronic filings.
  • Proactively manage worldwide patent portfolios and monitor prosecution dockets.
  • Research the MPEP to resolve procedural questions and provide technical guidance.
  • Prepare Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and supplemental IDSs for patent families.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to generate reports, charts, and foreign filing cost estimates.
  • Handle annuities, maintenance fees, and other patent renewal activities.
  • Provide support for due diligence projects, billing inquiries, and special projects as needed.

Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in patent filing and prosecution (domestic and foreign), ideally within a law firm or IP boutique setting.
  • 5-7 years of total paralegal experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CPi docketing software and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and foreign patent procedures, with the ability to handle technical interviews and problem-solve independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • High school diploma required; additional IP litigation or trademark prosecution experience is a plus.
