Mechanical Engineer - Defense & Power Systems - Greater Albany
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, testing, and support of precision electromechanical and power conversion equipment. Based in the Greater Albany, New York area, the Mechanical Engineer will work across design, manufacturing, and testing functions to deliver reliable systems for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.

Description
The defense and industrial manufacturing industry Mechanical Engineer will:
- Design mechanical systems, enclosures, and assemblies for electromechanical and power equipment.
- Support prototype builds, validation testing, and production release.
- Perform thermal, stress, and vibration analysis using engineering principles and simulation tools.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and quality personnel to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Prepare and maintain CAD drawings, models, and technical documentation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturability, reliability, and cost reduction.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical design and production challenges.

Profile
The defense and industrial manufacturing industry ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Have 3+ years of experience in mechanical design within manufacturing, defense, or aerospace.
- Be proficient with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and GD&T.
- Demonstrate knowledge of materials, thermal management, and structural analysis.
- Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Be comfortable supporting both design and production environments.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required (due to defense-related projects).
